VI PEEL
VI Peel is a type of chemical peel that was created to improve the texture and appearance of the skin. We love it for its high-impact, minimal downtime approach! VI is a medium-depth peel that uses a combination of trichloroacetic acid (TCA), salicylic acid, retinoic acid, phenol, and vitamin C to exfoliate and resurface the skin.
The VI Peel is designed to treat a variety of skin concerns, including acne, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and uneven skin tone and texture. The procedure typically takes about 30 minutes and involves applying the solution to the face, neck, chest, or hands. There may be some mild discomfort during application, but this is typically tolerated very well. You will leave our office with the peel on for about 4-6 hours and have a packet with aftercare instructions. You can also download an app which will help you remember your aftercare.
There are 5 different types of VI peel available with each version tailored to a specific skin concern. Our favorite tends to be Precision Plus, but we will help you decide which one is right for you!
After the peel, you can expect some mild redness and irritation. Usually day 3-4 is when peeling is most significant. It is important to avoid sun exposure during this time and to follow a strict skincare regimen to help promote healing and prevent complications. Some people will have dramatic “sheet” peeling and some people just have flaking. The amount of peeling does not affect your overall results. As we always say, you don’t have to peel to have a good peel! You will be done with the peeling by day 7 and will have that “post peel glow”.
As with any cosmetic procedure, it is important to have a consult to determine if the VI Peel is right for you and to ensure that you receive the best possible results.
